From the moment I walked into the Symphony Center for Soundpost – Renaissance Remix: A Fashion Experience, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable evening. The night

kicked off with an intimate VIP reception, which was the perfect touch to set the tone. Sipping on cocktails and mingling with other like-minded creatives, I found myself immersed in conversations about art, fashion, and music. It felt like a space where inspiration flowed effortlessly, and everyone was eager to connect and share ideas.
Once the show began, the atmosphere shifted into something truly magical. The evening was divided into two acts, and each carried its own distinct energy. The first act, “Dark Ages,” featured bold and experimental designs by Kaiyaun Xu, Kaine Bautista, and Bichoy Boutros. Their pieces felt like a raw exploration of the unknown—challenging, striking, and unapologetically unique. I caught myself leaning forward in my seat, completely captivated by the intricate details and daring concepts.
The second act, “Renaissance,” brought a breath of elegance to the runway. Eric Garcia and Jason DaVell presented collections that were nothing short of masterful. Their designs embodied a modern take on Renaissance opulence, blending rich textures with innovative silhouettes. Watching the models move down the runway, accompanied by live performances from the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, was mesmerizing. The music elevated every moment, creating a seamless connection between sound and style.
The Symphony Center’s Orchestra Hall stage added a level of grandeur to the night that can’t be overstated. The lighting, the acoustics, and the energy of the space all came together to create an experience that felt larger than life.
After the show, guests were invited to the stage to mingle, take photos, and celebrate the creativity on display. It was one of those moments where you could feel the pride and excitement in the room. Designers, musicians, and attendees alike were beaming with inspiration and joy.
What made the night even more meaningful was knowing that proceeds from the event went toward the CSOA’s Negaunee Music Institute, supporting education and community engagement programs. It was a reminder of the impact that art has—not just on those who create it but on the communities it uplifts.
Soundpost – Renaissance Remix was more than just a fashion show; it was a celebration of art, music, and the power of collaboration. I left the Symphony Center feeling inspired and deeply grateful to be part of an event that showcased the best of Chicago’s creative community.
