Here are some makeup & beauty tips from Spade:

  1. An effective, consistent skincare routine is key to a flawless makeup application! Makeup is less likely to properly adhere to fed-up skin.
  2. Trouble applying lashes? Use a thin line of lash glue, let it dry down & get tacky before attempting to adhere to your lash line.
  3. How you prep your skin is just as important as what makeup products you use! Dry skin? Try a priming oil or hydrating Primer. Oily skin? Apply powder prior to primer, then use a mattifying gel-based primer!
  4. When watching tutorials online typically HD cameras and/or studio lighting is used, this requires a heavier application and more dramatic colors to translate on camera. In reality, you don’t need to wear as much every day to achieve the look you’re going for! Keep that in mind the next time you follow a tutorial!
  1. Don’t forget your SPF even when it’s overcast and yes my melanated people included! Did you know unprotected skin is more prone to hyperpigmentation, aging, and skin barrier breakdown? I like to have SPF in my moisturizer to avoid adding an extra step to my routine but you could also use a lightweight tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 and up. My personal favorites are: Lancome Skin Feels Good & Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizers.
